About the event
When snake charming became outlawed, the women started dancing with snake like movements to earn for their families. The Kalbelia Community are known as Jogi or Gypsies of Rajasthan, India.
Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, India is considered the gateway of the Romany Trail. The Kalbelia are at not Romany or Roma as they never left India.
Katrina Ji has been studying this artform for more than a decade while supporting the Kalbelia Community through online classes, cultural trips & dance study in India and performance tours in the USA with Rajasthani Caravan
